Rockstar Games‘ open world, western action-adventure game, Red Dead Redemption will be added to Xbox One’s backwards compatible program this Friday, July 8.

Update: Red Dead Redemption as Xbox One backwards compatible title is live now, you install the game on your Xbox One now.

The game size is around 7GB, if you are unable to install or download, restart your console and try again.

The western action-adventure will be playable for every Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 owner, regardless of the edition they own (Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition).

It will also be made available on Friday from Xbox One’s Games Store.

Red Dead Redemption was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in May 2010. It is the second title in the Red Dead franchise, after 2004’s Red Dead Revolver.
